This is the information gathered when someone in the company performs an operation on a file or folder.

## The life cycle of a document and the control of its changes

**In the file environment of an enterprise, where multiple users work in the office, at home or on the move, the life history of documentation cannot be ignored.** The company files:

- Are created (Someone has entered them into the system for protection, work and archiving).
- Are modified (At a certain time and by a member of the company).
- They are viewed (By a member of the company or when shared with a client).
- Have been deleted.
- They have been shared with clients and these have later on acted on the file.
- They have been renamed.
